Over the past 12 months, our AI tax copilot Luna has supported tax professionals with legislation research and advice drafting. Every conversation, question, and piece of feedback has helped us continuously refine how Luna supports real professionals in real-world environments. In a space like tax and finance, where accuracy, judgement, and trust truly matter, we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
Today, we’re sharing a set of important updates to Luna and introducing a new direction for Empathetic AI.
Luna’s latest upgrades
Luna has received a series of meaningful upgrades focused on one goal: becoming more dependable, more transparent, and more useful for real finance work.
Multi-jurisdiction support
Luna now supports tax and accounting across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This expansion reflects how modern finance work increasingly operates across borders and regulatory environments.
Transparent reasoning
Luna now presents her thinking in a structured, expandable way. This was designed to support professional judgement, auditability, and reference checking, rather than simply presenting an answer. In finance, understanding how something was derived matters just as much as the result.
Stronger accuracy and reasoning
The core models behind Luna have been upgraded with a focus on stronger reasoning and more reliable responses for complex tax and finance questions.
Introducing Empathetic AI Labs
Alongside Luna, we are launching Empathetic AI Labs.
Empathetic AI Labs is where we build more specialised, purpose-built AI agents for complex finance workflows beyond a single copilot.
Our approach is grounded in a collaborator-builder mindset. We believe meaningful AI systems are created when AI builders work closely with professionals who deeply understand the problems they are solving.
Empathetic AI Labs is our space to explore, design, and build these systems together, whether around compliance, financial operations, advisory workflows, or other high-judgement finance domains.
This marks the beginning of a broader product direction for Empathetic AI.
AI for Finance workshops
Over the past 12 months, we’ve also been working closely with professional bodies and universities to design AI for Finance education.
One thing came through very clearly from finance professionals: they don’t want something generic or overly theoretical, they want something practical, relevant, and grounded in how their work actually gets done.
So we decided to launch our own AI for Finance workshops, from real use-case exploration through to hands-on building.
These sessions focus on practical AI applications across the finance lifecycle, and are designed for teams working in regulated environments who want to adopt AI thoughtfully and responsibly.
Our guiding belief
At the heart of everything we build is one belief.
AI should support professional judgement, not replace it.
As AI becomes more capable, the role of human expertise, accountability, and trust becomes increasingly important.
Luna’s upgrades and the launch of Empathetic AI Labs both reflect this philosophy.
